Thirteen years ago I said the two most important words I can think of (besides “I love you”) to her. When we first met  20 years ago,  you thought I was the most annoying person you would ever know  (She’s probably right..). Four years later when your aunt convinced you to hang out at lunch with us that day, you made me do the oddest thing ever, I opened up. I actually reached out and did something that was out of character with me.  Something I don’t regret to this day.  Later we moved in together and continued our relationship until that day in church when I said some other rather important words in front of the entire congregation of our local church (Also out of character for me), “Will you marry me?”.

The next May of ’97, we stood on the altar in front of our families and friends as I spoke the two words that would forever bond us, “I do…”, uniting the Hayes and Dorado families in sickness and in health, for better or worse, til death do us part. For the next 13 years, we have seen our rises and near falls and probably the best thing to happen for both of us 4 years later, the birth of our son.

I just wanted to say to you Kimberly Rayann Hayes, that if given the chance to do it over again, I would do it without hesitation.

Happy anniversary Pooh.
